Public Hearing Notices

The Nevada Revised Statutes and the Henderson Development Code require that public hearing notices be sent out for Comprehensive Plan Amendments, Master Streets and Highways Amendments, Zone Changes, Zoning Ordinance Amendments, Use Permits, and Variances.

Public hearing notices are sent to make citizens aware of a proposed application in their neighborhood and the opportunity to voice their opinions.  The public hearing notices are a yellow postcard that includes the application number(s); applicant name; description; location map; date, time, and location of the public hearing; and City of Henderson contact name.  The card can be marked with an opinion and returned to Community Development via mail or fax.  Physically attending a public hearing is the most effective way to voice your support or opposition; however, attendance is not required.

A sign is posted on the subject property at least 10 days prior to the meeting.  Notices of public hearings for Comprehensive Plan Amendments, Master Streets and Highway amendments, Vacations, Zone Changes, and Zoning Ordinance Amendments are also published in the Las Vegas Review Journal at least 10 days prior to the Planning Commission meeting.

In addition, if you are unable to attend the Planning Commission meeting, please use the following button to provide your support/opposition for the Planning Commission item.  Comments submitted after 5:30 p.m. on the day of the meeting, must be presented in person at the meeting to be considered by the Planning Commission and included as part of the record.

If you have any questions regarding these applications, a staff contact person is also designated on the public hearing notice.  The contact person may be reached at (702) 267-1500.
