Christmas Tree Recycling

December 26-January 22
Bring your fresh tree (no artificial or flocked trees) to one of the following locations for recycling:

Tree mulch is placed around city park trees to provide nutrients, limit weed growth and limit mechanical damage to trunks. We encourage you to use mulch under your trees too. Free mulch is available at Pecos Legacy Park and Acacia Demonstration Gardens. Bring your own shovel and container.

Candy Cane Kids Holiday Celebration

Paint & Pizza Party: Winter Bliss

A blank canvas awaits your child in this on this fun-filled night. They can let their imaginations run wildand paint what they like or follow that night’s theme using a variety of painting utensils including brushes, glitter and sponges. Candy Cane Festival

Celebrate the magic of winter with us. Festivities include games, bounce house, treats, and our famous underwater candy cane hunt. Reindeer Dash 5K Run

Make a dash to Pittman Wash Trail this winter for a jolly good time. Participants are encouraged to don their most cheerful costumes or ugly holiday sweaters. Souvenir T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 300 participants. All fitness levels are welcome. Registration dates are listed below. Packet pickup is on Dec. 12 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Jimmy John’s (106 N. Stephanie St. Suite 130) or from 8:00-9:00 a.m. the day of the event. Day-of registration is cash only. Ages 5+

Winter Break BMX Challenge

Bring your bike and helmet for this recreational dirt bike challenge at the Arroyo Grande BMX park. After a short intro class, compete in the pump track trial, bunny hop, jumping, and ladder bridge contests. Balance bike riders will have time trial and coasting contests.
