The Henderson Police Department has 390 police officer positions, 90 correction officers and more than 180 civilian staff members. Minimum Qualifications for Police Officer and Corrections Officer
- U.S Citizen at least 21 years of age
- Associate Degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent 60 credits*
- Must have no convictions for offenses greater than a misdemeanor
- Must have no convictions for offenses of domestic violence
- NV P.O.S.T. minimum requirements per N.A.C. 289.110 can be found here
*The minimum education standard is applied universally to all applicants; there are no waivers given for military service or law enforcement experience.
Fitness Prep With a Recruiter!
If you have a desire to become a Henderson Police Officer or Corrections Officer, come and workout with officers and recruiters from HPD! We run participants through workouts to help be prepared for the Physical Fitness Test used in the selection and hiring process.
