Hiking Series

Enjoy the great outdoors by taking a hike with the City of Henderson. Hikes vary in length and are a great way to get in shape while exploring the amazing trails in your community. Put on your favorite pair of athletic shoes, grab your water bottle, and hit the trails this fall! Please remember to dress for the weather. Youth (under 18 years) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration is required for these activities.


Amargosa Trail

Join us as we hike on the soft surface Amargosa Trail. This 3.5-mile moderately strenuous hike sees elevation gains of around 350 feet and affords great views of the valley below.
 
What to wear/bring:

  • Closed-toe shoes, hat, sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Pack water and snacks

Location: Hidden Falls Park trailhead

McCullough Hills Trail

Come hike with us on National Take a hike day! This trail begins at McCullough Hills trailhead at Mission Drive and ends at Anthem Hills Park. Trail length within the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area is about 8 miles. Transportation will be provided for participants.

What to wear/bring:

  • Wear closed-toe shoes, a hat, and sunglasses
  • Pack sunscreen, 2 liters of water, and a lunch

Night Hike

Join us in celebrating National Flashlight Day. Join us for a night hike at Whitney Mesa. This moderate hike has scenic night views at the top of the mesa. Leashed dogs are welcome. Flashlights will be provided.

  • Wear closed-toe shoe
  • Water
