Innovative Code Program of the Year Award
Community Development & Services’ Code Enforcement Division earned a respected industry award for the 2022 Innovative Code Program for the Park Rule Enforcement Program by the American Association of Code Enforcement (AACE) during its national conference.
The Innovative Code Program award offers national-level recognition to code enforcement departments for developing and implementing innovative practices or programs in their community.
This well-deserved recognition spotlights the Park Rule Enforcement Program. This innovative program was a collaborative effort with the Parks and Recreation Department, Henderson Police Department, Neighborhood Services Division and multiple community partners to ensure safety, increased access and usability in our parks. This group made a concretive effort to find a creative solution to address resident and City Council concerns that included homeless encampments, frequent vandalism, destruction of property and other safety and nuisance activities. In addition, Code Enforcement proactively connected displaced individuals with vital resources and housing options. The Code Enforcement team continues to exhibit their dedication to support a safe and vibrant community with the success of the Park Rule Enforcement Program.
