City of Henderson Celebrates Public Works Week by Securing Project of the Year Awards

HENDERSON, Nev. (May 20, 2024) – In celebration of National Public Works Week May 19-25, the City of Henderson is proud to announce three winning submissions in the Nevada Chapter of American Public Works Association’s "Project of the Year” competition.
Henderson received top placement in the following categories:
• Employee Health and Wellness Center, Structures $1-5 million
• Dundee Jones Park, Environmental $5-10 million
• Santiago Estates Dewatering System, Environmental $1-5 million
Henderson was also named 55th among the 100 Best Fleets in the Americas by the Fleet Management Association, an improvement from last year when Henderson was 76th.
In addition, two Public Works Equipment Operators participated in the Southern Nevada ROADeo competition in April, including a victory to qualify for the APWA National Competition later this year.
“I am immensely proud of our team for these awards, and grateful for the hard work they put into ensure our City remains a safe community for our residents,” said Director of Public Works Lance Olson. “I also want to offer a special congratulations to our own Patrick Bair for advancing to the national ROADeo competition and making Henderson proud!”
