Quickly shocking the heart with an AED can save a person’s life during cardiac arrest. As public access AEDs become more available within the Henderson community, it is important to become familiar with how and when to use an AED.

A person with significant bleeding can die within five minutes. It is vital to stop blood loss quickly before arrival of emergency responders. Class includes training on emergency bleeding control and how to use a tourniquet.

The class will provide information on dangers of fentanyl and a demonstration of how to administer Narcan, a drug given to reverse the effects of an overdose.

Fentanyl-related overdoses are on the rise, and this critical addition to First Six classes emphasizes our efforts to raise awareness to keep our residents, especially our youth, safe and informed.
