Chief Scott Vivier was selected as the 12th City of Henderson Fire Chief in October 2024. He started with the City in January 2000 as a Firefighter/Paramedic, advancing to Medical Services Officer, Division Chief of EMS, and Deputy Fire Chief. Committed to positively impacting the lives of everyone who lives, works, and plays in the community, Chief Vivier has been a constant leader in the development of industry leading programs and services. These award-winning programs have been widely recognized and have allowed the department to continue to be the premier fire service agency in the country.
Chief Vivier began his emergency services career in 1995 as an Advanced EMT with Mercy Ambulance Company in Las Vegas. While working as an EMT, Chief Vivier attended the College of Southern Nevada where he obtained an Associates Degree of General Studies and an associate’s degree in Paramedic Medicine. Additionally, Chief Vivier has obtained a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Services Administration and a Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law, where he graduated with distinction.
In addition to serving on the fire department, Chief Vivier taught for seven years at the College of Southern Nevada, a CAAHEP accredited university. He has served as an accreditation reviewer for the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) and is a licensed Attorney and Counselor at Law in the state of Nevada. Chief Vivier currently serves on the Trauma Intervention Program’s (TIP) Board of Directors for Las Vegas where he is an active TIP National Trainer and the author and creator of the “Emotional First Aid & Peer Support for Emergency Responders” class which has been taught to over a 1000 emergency responders in Southern Nevada.
Scott and his wife LeAnn are both City of Henderson natives and have been married for 27 years. They have two daughters, two miniature schnauzers, and one golden doodle grand doggy.
