Melissa Wright, City Auditor, has been with the City of Henderson since August 2013. The Internal Audit Department is responsible for providing independent and objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the City of Henderson’s operations.

Prior to her tenure with the City, Melissa spent over 19 years at Clark County, beginning as an Audit Supervisor in the Internal Audit Department. Melissa also worked as the Forensic Legal Auditor for the District Attorney’s Office, Assistant Manager and Department Fiscal Services Administrator for the Parks and Recreation Department, and Principal Financial Analyst for the Department of Finance’s Budget Division. Prior to her time with Clark County, Melissa was an Audit Division agent for the State of Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Melissa is a graduate of Basic High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and a minor in Business Law from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Nevada, and a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Fraud Specialist.
