Professional Biography
Judge Burr is currently serving as Municipal Court Judge, City of Henderson, Department 3. He was appointed Municipal Court Judge in April of 2016. He has served continuously for 32 years as a Judge. He previously served as a Clark County Justice of the Peace for over 25 years (1990-2016).
Prior to his election to the bench, Judge Burr served as a Deputy District Attorney for the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. His past career related activities have included: Past President, Nevada Judge's Association; Consultant and Member, Urban Court Workload Assessment Committee (Rose Commission); Regional Representative, DUI Assessment Center Committee; Building Committee, City of Henderson; and as an alternate for the Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission.
Judge Burr is a past recipient of the Judge of the Year award by the Nevada Conference of Police and Sheriffs. He has served on the Board and as Past President of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. He is a Member of the American Judges Association, Nevada Judges Association and the Nevada and Clark County Bar Association.
He attended Basic High School and received his BA in 1983 from UNLV. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1986. Over the years Judge Burr has been active in the community having served various times as a Youth Sports Coach, and as a leader for the Boy Scouts of America. Judge Burr and his wife, Annette, have four children, and ten grandchildren. He has been a resident of Henderson for 58 years.
