Our new Henderson Swim Academy teaches participants how to swim skillfully and safely.
This parent and infant class introduces the core competencies by providing instruction to the parent/guardian about how to introduce and help develop aquatic readiness and water safety for their child. A parent or guardian must accompany their child in the water and have their child in swim diapers. Ages 6months-3 years.
Participants develop skills that are useful for self-rescue and a sense for how the body can move through the water learning correct strokes when the student is developmentally ready. Ages 3-13.
The Stroke School curriculum is designed for students who are comfortable floating, submerging and moving independently in the water. The program focuses on introducing the four major swimming strokes and endurance in preparation for the FIN Swim recreational swim team. Goggles and swim caps are highly encouraged.
FIN Swim is a swim team for beginners that students can join once they complete our Henderson Swim Academy. This program will introduce swimmers to the competitive swimming environment. Swimmers must be able to swim the prerequisite of a 25-yard swim to participate in the program. One swim meet is held per session.
These lessons are designed for beginning adults wishing to overcome their fear of the water or those who want to improve swimming technique and ability. Ages 14+.
A trained instructor leads four 30-minute, one-on-one lessons customized to meet the needs of infants, children, adults, and seniors. Minimum age is 6 months. Children 3 years and under may be required to be accompanied by a parent/guardian in the water.
