Remote Video Visitation Rules and Expectations

The Henderson Detention Center recognizes the importance of engaging with family, friends, and legal counsel.  Participation in remote video-visitation, however, is a privilege, not a right. Both visitor and inmate are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate fashion during a remote video visitation. Failure to do so, by either party, may result in suspension or termination of this privilege. In the event of the loss of this privilege, the visitor will need to utilize other means of communication.  

The Henderson Detention Center reserves the right to deny, cancel or terminate a remote video visit prior to or during a video session based upon visitor or inmate misconduct. The Henderson Detention Center also reserves the right to restrict visitors from participating in all future use of the system. The Henderson Detention Center will not be held liable for any failure of the video visitation system, including but not limited to technical and mechanical failures.

Any monetary transaction or agreement is between the visitor and Securus Technologies.  The Henderson Detention Center is not a party to such transactions. 

Visitors must provide their own equipment and the necessary internet connections to participate in remote video visitations.

• Remote video visits will be conducted in the same manner as if the visit was occurring in person (e.g. dress code, behavior, language) and must comply with all Department policies, guidelines and procedures.
• All remote video visits, except for attorney video visits, will be recorded, and designated employees may monitor video visits to ensure compliance with policy and facility rules. Your use of the video visitation system constitutes consent to this recording and monitoring.
• Remote video visits will be limited to 20 minutes per visit. Inmates may have up to three visits daily, subject to availability.
• Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance; no exceptions will be made. All appointments are subject to availability.
• Those wishing to visit must present a valid, government-issued picture identification.
• Minors must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian, who must be present in the video, during the entire duration of the video visit.
• Proper attire, including tops and bottoms, must be worn at all times.
  • Shirts and blouses must be able to be tucked in.
  • Spaghetti straps, tank tops, tube tops and sleeveless shirts are NOT permitted.
  • Short shorts and miniskirts are NOT permitted.
  • Underwear must be completely concealed at all times.
  • Swimwear, sleepwear, see-through clothing or revealing clothing is NOT permitted.
  • Profane, sexually explicit, or derogatory language on clothing is NOT permitted.
  • No head coverings allowed except for religious or medical purposes.
  • Sunglasses must be removed.

The following is prohibited during remote video visitation and may result in suspension or termination of visiting privileges:

• Any display of nudity
• Conversations, behavior or actions that are sexual in nature (e.g. lewd and sexually suggestive gestures), provocative or disruptive
• Conversations regarding gang activity, criminal activity, or other illicit activity.
  
  

The same dress standards and code of conduct that apply to remote video visitation sessions apply to onsite visitations.

• Limited to two (2) visits per inmate per week.
• Two (2) adults or one child and one adult per visit.
• 20 minutes per visit.
• Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance; no exceptions will be made. All appointments are subject to availability.
• Must present a valid, government-issued picture identification.
• Cell phones, purses, backpacks, food and drink are not allowed in the lobby.
• Inmate visitation is not permitted between two parties where a temporary protective order is currently active.
