In Memoriam of Henderson Police Volunteers
Hugh Kennedy
Hugh passed away on 9/5/17. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was retired from the Clark County School District where he was a supervisor for electronics maintenance.
Tony Silas
Anthony “Tony” Silas was born in Hungary in 1930 and was able to immigrate to the United States several years after the end of WWII. He joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and retired with the rank of Sergeant after 22 years of service. Upon relocating to Southern Nevada he joined the Henderson Police Volunteer Program in 2009 and assisted the Investigative Services Division as a volunteer. Tony could always be counted on for a smile, positive outlook, and a bad joke.
Walter Ireland
Walter joined the HPD Volunteer program on August 17, 2009. He passed away January 20, 2014.
Jerry Maske
Jerry was a retired Wauwatosa police officer, and also served in the United States Army Reserve as a Military Police Officer. An entrepreneur at heart, and with a love for photography. After retirement, Jerry volunteered at the Henderson Animal Shelter and the Detention Center and took pictures at volunteer events.
Juan Ucros
HPD Volunteer Juan Ucros passed away after a battle with cancer. Juan joined the HPD Volunteer program in February 2010 and primarily assisted with special events, but was always ready to assist when called, no matter what the assignment. Juan will be missed by all that knew him.
Henri "Duke" Ducasse
Henri “Duke” Ducasse passed away in October 2010. Duke was a dedicated member of the Henderson Police Volunteer program and was training to become a member of the Handicapped Parking Enforcement Team. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and active with various volunteer program.
Bill Cling
Bill was a former LAPD Officer, VHRU volunteer and one of the original Henderson Volunteers, along with his wife Marie. Bill passed away Friday, February 20, 2010.
Cindy DiPietro
Cindy DiPietro was one of the original members of the HPD Volunteer Program. She was active in all areas of the program, but especially in the Handicapped Parking Enforcement and “Every 15 Minutes” programs. Her positive outlook and upbeat personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
