Early Childhood Education Center Plans To Include Enrollment for 180 Students

The City of Henderson is constructing a new early childhood education center as part of the City's Quality Education strategic priority.

The early childhood education center will expand access to high-quality preschool education for three-five-year-olds in the community. Currently, 40% of three- and four-year-olds in Henderson are enrolled in a preschool program, and this project aims to increase that number to support the most crucial point in a child's development.

Increasing access to high-quality early learning opportunities is paramount to their educational success, which eventually impacts our community’s economic vitality down the road. We also know that programs like these can really help families who may need more childcare options.”

The early childhood education center will be constructed near Grand Cadence and Galleria Drive, close to the Eastside and Downtown redevelopment areas. It is planned to include:

This will be the second preschool for the City of Henderson, with the other located at the Valley View Recreation Center.

The estimated cost for the early childhood education center is $15.3 million and estimated for completion in 2027. The estimated cost includes the project's design, construction, and installation.
